2013 News

The West's best float tubers and kick boaters converged on Clear Lake on the weekend of April 27-28, 2013 for the 13th annual Bass-Tubes Clear Lake Open.
The weather was awesome for the entire weekend and the fishing was pretty good too!

Dawn on day 1 saw the anglers spread out into the Keys and the Rattlesnake arm of Clear Lake with great expectations and they were not to be disappointed.

At the end of the first day Matt Nyiri fished in the Keys and had the bag to beat with a nice five fish limit for 21.27 pounds.
Not to far behind was Robert Middleton who fished Rattlesnake and brought his best five to the scale for 20.34 pounds.
In third after day one was Sean Henderson with a 19.44 pound limit.
Fourth place was Andy Mercado with 18.05, and rounding out the top five was Marc Harrison with 18.03.

The Saturday evening festivities were fun with the raffle being the highlight of the evening. We had a bunch of great prizes to give way thanks to all of our great sponsors.

Day two started out like a carbon copy of day one as the anglers headed out to do battle with the Clear Lake bass again.

Robert Middleton had the bag to beat on day two with another fat limit of bass for 21.96 pounds and a two day total of 41.30 to claim the victory.
Matt Nyiri brought four fish in for 19.31 pounds on the second day and finished in second place with a total weight of 38.58 pounds.
Finishing in third place was Marc Harrison who fished consistently and added 17.89 pounds to his day one weight for a total of 35.92 pounds for both days.
Sean Henderson had a limit for 16.38 pounds and 34.82 for his two day total to take home the fourth place money.
Finishing strong on day two was Jason Cullen who weighed in 17.61 pounds to finish in fifth place with 32.07.
Rounding out the top 8 were, Jon Graves in sixth with a two day total of 31.07 pounds, Taylor Capilla in seventh with 30.74, and Chris LaPoint with 27.66 pounds.

A great big thank you goes out to the sponsors of this event.
The sponsors are...

I also want to thank the BnT staff who helped to coordinate and ran such a smooth event. Thanks go to:
Chris Pochop who handeled everyones fish at the scale both days and called out raffle numbers. Oscar Baeza who manged all the sponsors donations and ran the raffle on Saturday evening. Robert Middleton for helping with the raffle donations and help running the scale. Jeff Wilson for running fish from the scale to the release boat each day, and to Steve Williams for recording the weights at the scale.

And finally, thanks to all the participants who came out and fished with us for the 13th year in a row. It was a blast!

We hope to see everyone on the water soon.

GO FISH!
